Know what you pay for
Too many people come to Tanzania and leave feeling like they missed something. Their guide could not explain the animals. Days felt rushed. The itinerary made no sense with the seasons. They paid a lot and came home with photographs but not much understanding.
That is the problem Watoky Safaris was built to fix. We started this company because we saw it happen too many times.

Knowledge that comes from years of watching, not reading
Watoky Safaris is led by a guide with a practical, deep understanding of wildlife and how Tanzania’s ecosystems work.
For example: most visitors see a lion lying still and think it is resting. A trained eye reads the tail flick, the ear angle, the direction of the gaze, and knows a hunt may begin within minutes. That is the difference between watching and understanding.
On your trip, you will receive explanations like this in real time, for every meaningful sighting. You will leave Tanzania knowing not just what you saw, but why it was happening.
What You Get With Watoky Safaris
A trip planned properly from day one
Your itinerary is carefully crafted around the ideal places for the season, the optimal timing within each day, and a clear structure that makes sense before you even leave home. Nothing is rushed and nothing is unclear.
Includes full written itinerary before departure
Don't Just See, Understand What You See
You receive clear, real-time explanations of the sightings, including animal behaviour as it happens. Each sighting becomes part of a bigger picture, not just a moment that passes while you reach for your camera.
Wildlife ecology explained throughout every game drive
Comfortable hotels, lodges and tented camps
You stay in handpicked accommodation, comfortable, well-located, and chosen because they make the experience better. Not the cheapest option near the park, and not an $1800-a-night property either. The right level for a trip that feels worth it.
Accommodation included in all multi-day safari prices
Direct contact with your guide, always
You plan and travel with the same person. No handovers, no agents in between. Your guide is reachable on WhatsApp and direct email from the first message to the last day in the field, and responds quickly.
Direct communication available throughout planning and travel
Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and beyond starting from Arusha
The Serengeti is where the large herds move: open, flat, and endlessly alive. Ngorongoro is where they are contained, concentrated, and easier to study. Five days gives you the full picture of how Tanzania’s wildlife actually works.
From $1,450Â per person
Tarangire has the largest elephant herds in Tanzania. Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano with 25,000 animals living on its floor. Two days, two completely different worlds, and enough time to understand both.
From $1,450Â per person
Tarangire for the elephants and the baobabs. Ngorongoro for the crater and the density. Serengeti for the plains, the predators, and the scale of it all. Seven days is the right amount of time to do all three without rushing any of them.
From $1,450Â per person
Day trips from Moshi Materuni, Chemka and more
High in the Kilimanjaro foothills, the Chagga people have grown coffee for generations. You walk through their farms, learn how coffee is processed by hand, and end at one of Tanzania’s most beautiful waterfalls.
From $50 per person
About two hours from Moshi, warm and perfectly clear water flows up from underground beneath a canopy of giant fig trees. We explain the volcanic geology that keeps it warm all year. A genuinely special place that most tourists miss.
From $80 per person
Many Maasai village experiences in Tanzania are set up for tourists. This one is not. We have a genuine relationship with a community near Monduli, and they welcome visitors on their own terms. A real visit, not a performance.
From $150 per person

Everything you need to know before you book
What parks can I visit from Moshi?
What is included in the price?
Are the trips private or in a shared group?
Is Watoky Safaris right for my budget?
How many days do I actually need?
For day trips like Materuni or Chemka, one day is enough. For Tarangire, plan for 2 to 3 days. For the Serengeti and Ngorongoro together, 5 to 6 days gives you enough time without rushing. A 4-day trip is possible but tight. We will always be honest with you about what is realistic for your schedule — we would rather tell you a 3-day Serengeti trip is not enough time than sell you one.
What is the best time of year to visit Tanzania?
June to October is the dry season and generally the best time for game viewing — animals gather around water sources, vegetation is low, and conditions are comfortable. The Great Migration in the Serengeti peaks between July and September. November to March is the green season — parks are less busy, prices are lower, and the landscapes are beautiful. We will guide you on the best option for the specific parks you want to visit.
Can I combine a safari with Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar?
Yes, and many of our guests do exactly this. Moshi is the base for Kilimanjaro climbing, so a safari before or after a Kili climb is a natural combination. Zanzibar is a one-hour flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport — we can help you plan the logistics and connect you with trusted operators for the parts we do not handle ourselves.
How do I get in touch?
The quickest way is WhatsApp — your guide reads and responds to messages personally, usually within a few hours. You can also send an email to hello@watokysafaris.com or fill in the contact form below. Whichever way you reach out, you will be speaking with the same person who will guide your trip.
